Meet the Author
Annie Winston is an award-winning children's author winner of the Moonbeam Silver Medal for juvenile youth fiction. Her whimsical and light-hearted style is captured in her writing. She's also spoken to thousands of elementary students about her journey as an author. Annie loves inspiring kids to become passionate about reading and writing. She founded a 501c3 non-profit in 2018 called Jazzed About Reading to help accomplish this goal.
Some students after hearing one of Annie's school presentations ask, “What's your favorite kid's book? How old are you? What was the first story you wrote?"
She laughs and answers, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm thirty plus something, as I plan to be until I'm one hundred years old. I was seven years old when I wrote my first story about a toothbrush who hated going into a stinky mouth."
Annie likes helping others, enjoying an east Indian meal, dark chocolate, leisurely bike rides, taking photos, hiking, reading, walks on the beach, and spending time with children, grandchildren, husband, and friends.
